A proper shower in a campervan – without permanently sacrificing valuable living space.
The 50°Nord® campervan shower creates a temporary shower cubicle inside your vehicle whenever you need it. Afterwards, the entire system can be packed away compactly.
Choose between three versions: M for compact campervans with pop-top roofs, L for larger vans such as the Mercedes Sprinter or Fiat Ducato, and PLUS, which can be used both as an indoor campervan shower and as an outdoor shower behind the tailgate.

In compact campervans, a permanently installed shower cubicle takes up a considerable amount of valuable space. That's why many smaller campervans don't have a built-in shower at all.
Our approach is different.
The 50°Nord® shower is installed only when you actually want to shower. It combines a waterproof shower tray with a suspended shower cubicle, creating a protected shower area inside the campervan.
When you're finished, the shower disappears again – leaving the living space available for everything else.
The M version was developed specifically for Bulli-sized campervans with pop-top roofs, including vehicles such as the VW California, Mercedes Marco Polo, Crosscamp, Pössl Campster and Vanster.
With the pop-top raised and the upper bed lifted, the shower is suspended from the roof frame.
Adjustable Velcro straps and attachment points allow the shower to be fitted without drilling or riveting. Some pop-top roofs already have suitable Velcro attachment points from the factory.
At just under 1.3 metres high, the M version initially sounds surprisingly compact. The secret lies in its funnel-shaped design: the shower widens considerably towards the top, providing much more space around the head and upper body.
This makes it possible to create a practical indoor campervan shower even inside compact vehicles.
The L version is designed for larger vans and panel vans such as the Mercedes Sprinter, Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit and VW Crafter.
At approximately 1.8 metres high, it provides the height required for these larger interiors. In contrast to the M version, the upper section is narrower because the vehicle itself provides considerably more interior height.
Universal suspension loops are located at all four corners. For regular use in larger vans, we recommend suitable permanent attachment points inside the vehicle.
The result is a removable campervan shower cubicle that can be set up when required without permanently occupying valuable floor space.
The PLUS version combines our indoor M shower with the flexibility of an outdoor camping shower.
Its adaptable upper section allows it to be suspended inside a compact pop-top campervan or attached outside beneath the open tailgate.
Using our Octopus Stripes, the shower can be attached to both metal and plastic tailgates – including modern vehicles such as the VW T7 California and ID. Buzz. Optional extreme magnets are available for suitable steel tailgates.
With a little practice, the outdoor shower can be ready for use in approximately 30 seconds.
PLUS is therefore particularly versatile for vehicles such as the Mercedes Marco Polo, VW California, Crosscamp, VW T7, Mercedes V-Class, Ford Custom and many other vans with a tailgate.
The base of the system is not a thin camping groundsheet.
The shower tray is made from an extremely robust, fibre-reinforced multilayer material of the type used for heavy-duty inflatable boats.
A special intermediate layer makes the material highly resistant, even when used on demanding surfaces where small stones or sharp edges may be present.
The tray is completely waterproof and holds approximately 16 litres of water.
After showering, the collected water can be emptied in a controlled manner – for example into the vehicle's grey-water tank. An optional drain hose is also available.
This is particularly useful when showering inside the campervan, where controlled collection of the shower water is essential. Grey water from showers is normally collected separately from fresh water in campervan systems.
The shower cubicle itself is made from a special waterproof fabric of the type used for expedition tents.
It is tear-resistant, waterproof, flame-retardant and resistant to fungal growth.
Another important advantage when travelling: the shower can be packed away while wet if necessary.
You don't have to wait at your overnight stop until every part is completely dry. Simply pack it away and allow it to dry properly later when conditions permit.
A portable shower only makes sense if it doesn't consume half the storage space when you're not using it.
That's why all versions are designed to pack down into the shower tray itself.
Rolled up, the complete system measures only around 40 cm in length with a diameter of approximately 8–12 cm.
The maximum packed size is therefore only about 40 × 12 cm.
This makes it easy to find a permanent storage place for the shower inside the campervan.
The idea behind the 50°Nord® campervan shower came from a very ordinary travel situation.
50°Nord founder and inventor Gunther Schöllchen was travelling by campervan and spent the night near a ferry terminal. There was no suitable shower available, and showering outside in a public overnight location wasn't exactly an attractive option.
The improvised attempt to wash inside the campervan solved one problem – but created another: a wet interior.
That experience led to the first version of our indoor campervan shower.
On a later trip, the idea proved its value again under very different conditions. At a mountain pass with temperatures around 0°C, showering outside was hardly appealing. Being able to shower inside the vehicle made normal personal hygiene possible despite the cold.
That's ultimately what the product is about: having the option to shower when and where you need it, rather than depending entirely on campsite facilities or the weather.
An outdoor camping shower can be perfectly adequate in warm weather and in a private location.
But those conditions aren't always available.
Campsites, car parks, ferry terminals, cities, cold weather or simply other people nearby can quickly make an outdoor shower impractical.
An indoor solution provides significantly more privacy.
And as we like to say at 50°Nord:
Only very few people are truly beautiful naked.
The three versions cover very different vehicle types and travel styles.
M is designed primarily for compact campervans with a pop-top roof.
L is intended for larger vans and panel vans with greater interior height.
PLUS offers maximum flexibility when you want to shower both inside the campervan and outside beneath the tailgate.
Check the individual product pages for exact dimensions, attachment options and vehicle compatibility.
Whether you're travelling in a VW California, Mercedes Marco Polo, Crosscamp, Sprinter, Ducato or another van, the principle remains the same:
A proper shower when you need one – and your campervan living space back when you don't.
