With the Campster and Vanster, Pössl offers a vehicle concept positioned between a conventional van and a compact campervan.

The vehicles are based on the compact van platform originally developed by PSA and now part of Stellantis. This vehicle family includes the Peugeot Expert and Traveller as well as technically related models from Citroën, Opel/Vauxhall and Toyota.

Campster and Vanster – what's the difference?

Pössl Campster and Vanster differ primarily in their equipment and interior concept.

The Campster is more extensively equipped as a campervan. A fixed furniture and cupboard module provides storage and integrates important camping functions into the interior. This allows the Campster to combine the flexibility of a compact van with a more comprehensive campervan conversion.

The Vanster follows a more minimal and flexible concept. It remains closer to a passenger vehicle or leisure van while adding a pop-top sleeping roof and flexible camping options. In principle, the concept is similar to a VW California Beach: during everyday use the interior remains flexible, while it can be transformed into a camping and sleeping space when required.

Another important difference is the pop-top roof.

The Vanster has used a pop-top roof from MS-Components from the beginning.

The Campster up to and including model year 2024 uses an SCA 262 pop-top roof – the same roof system used on the Crosscamp. From model year 2025, the Campster also uses a pop-top roof from MS-Components, making its roof system the same as the Vanster.

When choosing vehicle-specific accessories, it is therefore important to consider not only whether you have a Campster or Vanster, but also the model year, interior equipment and fitted pop-top roof.

Sleeping in the Pössl Campster and Vanster

The pop-top roof is an important part of the camping concept of the Pössl Campster and Vanster.
