Standard Mesh or Fine Mesh – which mosquito net do I need?

Not every destination presents the same challenge when it comes to insects. That's why our campervan mosquito nets are available with two different mesh options.

Standard Mesh is the ideal choice for southern Europe and most other travel destinations. With a mesh size of approximately 1.29 × 1.13 mm and an open area of around 65%, it provides excellent airflow while reliably keeping mosquitoes, flies, wasps and other unwanted visitors outside.

Fine Mesh is significantly finer and particularly suitable for Scandinavia and other northern regions. Around Swedish lakes and in similar areas, extremely small biting insects such as midges and blackflies can sometimes pass through conventional mosquito mesh.

The finer structure provides better protection against these tiny insects, although airflow is approximately 20% lower than with Standard Mesh.

So the choice is straightforward: maximum ventilation for most destinations with Standard Mesh, or finer insect protection for regions where particularly small biting insects are common.

Made-to-fit mosquito nets for campervans

A good mosquito net shouldn't simply cover a doorway. It needs to follow the contours of the vehicle accurately so that insects can't easily find their way around the edges.

That's why our mosquito nets are designed specifically for the relevant vehicle and installation position.

They are available for both sliding doors and rear tailgates on many common campervans and vans.

The elasticated edging adapts to the contours of the vehicle, while powerful magnets sewn invisibly into the material hold the mosquito net securely in position.

The magnets are textile-covered, strong, paint-friendly and designed to prevent the net from slipping during normal use.

No drilling, no tools

Installation is deliberately simple.

The mosquito net is fitted to the open door or tailgate using its elastic edging and integrated magnets. There is no need to drill holes or permanently modify the vehicle.

It can also be removed again within seconds.

When you want the doorway completely open, the net can simply be folded or flipped to the side and held against the side of the vehicle using the integrated magnetic tabs.

On sliding-door versions, the vehicle's sliding door can also be fully closed while the mosquito net remains installed.

Patented self-closing magnetic zip on sliding-door nets

All our sliding-door mosquito nets feature a particularly practical detail: our patented self-closing magnetic zip.

Simply walk through the opening and the integrated magnets automatically bring the zip opening back together behind you.

This is especially useful when you're frequently moving in and out of the campervan and don't want to close the mosquito net manually every time.

At night, the opening can additionally be closed conventionally with the zip from inside the vehicle.

Our tailgate mosquito nets deliberately don't use the magnetic zip system, as the rear opening is generally used much less frequently as a passageway.

UV-resistant fibreglass mesh for outdoor use

The mesh itself is made from PVC-coated fibreglass fabric.

It is UV-resistant, weather-resistant, dimensionally stable and designed for repeated outdoor use.

The anthracite-black mesh also provides excellent visibility from inside the campervan. This keeps the interior feeling light and open while still providing effective insect protection.

Fresh air without turning the campervan into an insect hotel

Particularly on warm days and nights, leaving the sliding door or tailgate open makes an enormous difference to the climate inside a campervan.

A made-to-fit mosquito net allows fresh air to circulate continuously while helping to keep mosquitoes, flies, wasps and other insects outside.

The dark mesh remains visually unobtrusive and maintains good visibility to the outside.

What happens when it rains?

The mosquito nets are designed for outdoor use and the mesh itself is weather-resistant. Nevertheless, during heavy or prolonged rain, we recommend removing the net.

This allows the vehicle's rubber seals to close exactly as intended and also helps keep the mosquito net cleaner and in good condition for longer.

As removal only takes a few seconds, this is easy to do when the weather changes.

Compact storage when not in use

When the mosquito net isn't needed, it can be removed quickly and stored away compactly.

Each net comes with a reusable zipped storage bag, helping to keep it protected and organised inside the campervan.

Which mosquito net fits my campervan?

Sliding doors, tailgates and body contours differ from one vehicle to another. That's why our mosquito nets are developed specifically for the respective vehicle and installation position.
